The original meaning of "Equalizer" is a large board with
buttons
with which to balance the tempo and volume of sound or lighting. The Equalizer that we have developed at TACK is an instrument that allows us
to map the main axes and significance in a person’s or organization’s life and
to specify the desired balance point. This can be adjusted along a continuum
and transforms it from a contradictory values to complementary values. The Equalizer is built like a map which defines the axes of meaning and
value and integrates them into an overall view. The map serves as the basis
for preferred organizational and managerial behaviors according to
the organizational goals, and also tells us what we should avoid. The working methodology for designing the Equalizer is based on in-depth
research. Through this research we can reach layers of the personal experience
to reveal the mindset of the relevant population. In research we conducted examining what creates the sense of value added for the customers of a leading service organization, we found four main values: reputation, systemic thinking, personal contact, commitment and dedication of the service providers. The significance of these four values can be examined along two axes: the functional axis and the emotional axis. |

After the integration of the axes, we develop the path to the actualization of each value. The paths are a continuum of behaviors parallel to the meaning continuum hidden in the pattern of knowledge and feelings hidden in the unconscious of the customer. Through one organizing model, we can clarify the goals and the actions necessary for the organization to achieve these goals. The Equalizer has two main applications: Value Equalizer - can answer the question what provide value for the organization’s customer, consumers or employees and to design an appropriate solution. Strategic Equalizer – Facilitates the identification of the organizational value axis and design of the organization mission, vision and strategy, regarding to the right balance point for the organization in relation to its identity and the business environment in which it operates. |
